The Role:

Reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager – Surgical as an integral member of the UKI Surgical team primarily accountable for postoperative incision management within the Hospital setting. The main responsibility of this role is to effectively partner with both NHS & Private Hospitals to promote, educate & drive the uptake of Convatec products working closely with clinical & commercial customers (including but not limited to Consultants, Management, Specialists & Procurement). Territory: West Midlands, East of England & South Wales

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership and effective account management of defined territory through the development of comprehensive business plans. Focus on highest return/value opportunities to grow and develop new business (formulary inclusions) including taking competitor share and the adoption of new technologies whilst maintaining key existing customers and core business.

  • Be an expert and have the ability to confidently articulate the Convatec portfolio, including the key features and benefits, differentiators and health economic benefits.

  • Achieve agreed objectives and sales targets as outlined within defined territory within allocated geographical region, interact and promote products to key customers and stakeholders in secondary care.

  • New & existing customer will be communicated through face-to-face appointments (90%) & virtual appointments (10%). Also, at national, and local events throughout the year.

  • Manage and develop relationships between the Company and the customer building local and national advocates of the Convatec portfolio.

  • Work closely with the Clinical training Manager to open Market access, drive evaluations for formulary inclusion and support in the creation of clinical data.

  • Be competent and experienced in the operating theatre environment supporting and training teams in the safe and effective use of our products.

  • Lead training/clinical/commercial meetings to position the portfolio to optimise best practice in wound management to drive and support product implementation across Hospital settings.

  • To maintain a high level of clinical and technical knowledge of promoted products and services as well as NHS environment both local & national.

  • Use all relevant sales tools effectively and in line with company expectations including CRM, reporting systems, sales data.

  • Always represent Convatec professionally to the highest standards in line with our value and behaviors.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years NHS sales experience with a surgical background preferred (theatre experience).

  • Wound care experience preferred but not essential.

  • Recognised sales and account management experience with evidence of strong success - track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets & formulary inclusions.

  • The ability to work individually and as part of a wider team bringing positivity and high energy to the Surgical team.

  • A winning spirit and competitive mindset are essential.

  • A tenacious hunter mentality with an entrepreneurial focus and drive. Self-motivated and the ability to think outside the box.

  • Ambitious with the desire to succeed in role and progress professional within the organisation.

  • Ability to engage and build strong long-term relationships with key decision makers including consultants, surgeons, management, specialists, and procurement.

  • Highly competent at account planning and can demonstrate strong prioritisation skills, delivering business objectives and managing multiple projects at a given time.

  • Knowledge and understanding of IT including; Excel, PPT, Word ShowPad/digital sales aids and CRM adhering to all deadlines and including ad hoc requirements.

  • Ability to demonstrate good understanding of NHS developments, health reforms, NHS operating plan, NHS targets and competitor environment.

  • You are homebased within the territory spending 90% of time in face-face interactions in line with your account plan and priority accounts.

Travel Requirements

  • Position requires daily travel as per territory requirements

  • Occasional travel and overnight stay for internal events

  • Occasional travel and overnight stay for external event
