Delta County Clerk and Recorder Technician - Elections in Delta, Colorado
POSITION: Clerk and Recorder - Technician I, II, III - Elections
The Technician will perform routine and detailed administrative support functions to ensure efficient and compliant operation of the Clerk and Recorder's Office of Delta County. Technician will routinely communicate with and assist members of the public, coordinate with internal departments and members of the public.
DUTIES: * Update and maintain voter registration records based on guidelines, policies (Colorado Revised Statutes, County Policies, etc.) and procedures used in the department within a designated time frame. * Read and remain current on all voting and election laws tracking legislation and rule changes in order to assist others and conduct all elections as required. * Learn functions and operations of election voting equipment. * Provide information to the public, either in person or by phone on elections or refer public to appropriate staff for assistance. * Attain election certification as required by Help America Vote Act (HAVA) through regional trainings, conference calls, and webinars; meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or equivalent * Candidate must pass a background investigation. * Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
Level II * A minimum of two (2) years of experience processing motor vehicle transactions, elections, and/ or vital records and recording is required. * Hold and maintain a current Public Notary Commission.
PREFERRED SKILLS: Level I * Five (5) years' experience working with the public in a detailed administrative position is preferred.
- Combination of education and experience could meet qualifications and deemed applicable.
WAGE: Level I: $21.05 to $23.15 hourly
Level II: $24.21 to $25.42 hourly

SHIFTS: Full-time - 40 hours per week * Some out of town travel is required; overtime and Saturdays may be required during the election period.
