Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Security Supervisor to lead the security team at our seasonal hotel. With a vibrant workforce that includes many younger and international employees, the ideal candidate will ensure the safety and well-being of all staff, guests, and property while fostering a secure and inclusive environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage security operations, resolve conflicts, and support a culturally diverse team.

Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road?4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks?this breathtaking area offers daily bus services along the park road throughout the warm summer months, providing opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, climbing, and camping.

Job Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Supervise, schedule, and support a team of security officers to ensure full coverage and effective operations.
Provide training and guidance to security staff on protocols, emergency procedures, and cultural sensitivity.
Conduct regular team briefings to communicate updates, expectations, and performance feedback.
Safety and Security Operations:
Oversee daily security patrols of the property, ensuring all areas remain safe and secure.
Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and access controls, and respond promptly to any irregularities.
Manage incidents involving theft, disturbances, or unauthorized access with professionalism and discretion.
Guest and Employee Relations:
Act as a resource for younger and international employees, offering guidance on safety and local regulations.
Address and mediate conflicts among employees or guests, ensuring a fair and respectful resolution.
Collaborate with human resources and management to create a positive and inclusive environment.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans, conducting drills and training for staff as necessary.
Serve as the primary point of contact for law enforcement or emergency services during incidents.
Coordinate evacuation procedures and ensure compliance with fire and safety regulations.
Policy Enforcement and Compliance:
Enforce hotel policies, including those related to noise, curfews, and behavior, with consistency and professionalism.
Conduct regular inspections of employee accommodations (if applicable) to ensure compliance with safety and conduct standards.
Stay updated on local laws and regulations related to security and safety.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of incidents, inspections, and daily operations.
Prepare reports for senior management, highlighting any security concerns or improvements needed.
Ensure all security equipment is operational and promptly report maintenance needs.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a security supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality or service industry.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with international and younger employees.
Knowledge of safety regulations, emergency protocols, and basic first aid.
First aid and CPR Certified.
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
Physical fitness and the ability to patrol or respond to incidents as required.
Familiarity with security technology, including surveillance systems and access controls.
