Job Description
We are seeking a responsible and proactive Security Officer to join our seasonal hotel team. Our hotel welcomes a diverse staff, including many young and international employees, creating a dynamic and lively work environment. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road?4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks?this breathtaking area offers daily bus services along the park road throughout the warm summer months, providing opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, climbing, and camping.
Located just 7 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park, the Denali Park Village Hotel operates from May to September. Our guests enjoy comfortable accommodations, exceptional dining options, and live entertainment in a stunning natural setting.
Position Details: This exciting seasonal role is available from May 8 - September 17, 2025. We offer competitive wages, comfortable on-site housing, and a variety of fun activities to keep your summer vibrant. Stay active in our on-site gym and enjoy an inclusive meal plan for just $15 a day.

Job Responsibilities
Safety and Security Oversight:
Patrol the premises regularly to prevent and detect safety hazards, theft, or unauthorized activities.
Monitor security cameras and access control systems to maintain a secure environment.
Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption.
Employee and Guest Interaction:
Serve as a point of contact for young and international employees, offering guidance on safety practices and local regulations.
Handle conflicts or disputes among staff or guests professionally and impartially.
Ensure employees and guests feel welcome and secure by maintaining a friendly yet authoritative demeanor.
Emergency Response:
Implement emergency protocols, including evacuations, fire drills, or medical assistance when necessary.
Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when required.
Policy Enforcement:
Enforce hotel policies, including curfews, noise restrictions, and safety regulations, with consistency and tact.
Conduct regular checks of employee accommodations to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of incidents, patrol logs, and safety inspections.
Provide detailed reports to management regarding security activities or concerns.
Qualifications
Previous experience in security, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce and international guests.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response protocols is a plus.
First aid and CPR Certified.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
