SCOPE OF POSITION:
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints to define schematics for entry level welders.

Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
prepare, weld, and fabricate metal structures and components
measure, cut, and assemble metal projects using an electric arc and inert gas.
inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
may prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot.
familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment.
label all parts in the correct method
maintain a time log of work progress
may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
additional duties as required
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)
High School diploma or equivalent required
demonstrated ability to read blueprints
5 years welding and fabrication experience proficiency
ability to MIG weld light and heavy gauge materials
ability to weld (grinding and finishing) according to AWS standards
ability to read a tape and cut material accurately
knowledge of safety procedures and ability to work safely
maintain clean working environment
fluent in English; Spanish speaking skills a plus
