Robert Half Accounting Manager in Denver, Colorado

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity in the Legal industry. As an Accounting Manager, you will be in charge of managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and assisting in accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting activities, including monitoring bank account balances and managing accounts payable and receivable.

• Prepare journal entries for month-end closing, including entries for depreciation and expense reclassifications.

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Regularly reconcile bank accounts, asset, and liability accounts to ensure data accuracy.

• Assist in the timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices and employee expense reimbursements.

• Act as a point of contact for insurance requests and vendor set-up forms.

• Prepare and file monthly use tax returns with City of Denver and State of Colorado.

• Ensure accurate and timely posting of payments received in accounts receivable.

• Conduct routine analysis of expense budget variances throughout the year.

• Maintain accurate records of fixed assets.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions such as Adjusting Journal Entries, Journal Entry Preparation, and Ledger Journal Entries.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with Depreciation Schedules and Month-end Journal Entries.

• Experience with Billing Functions and Aderant software.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting management role.

• Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with billing functions.

• Proficiency in Aderant and Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with adjusting journal entries, journal entries, journal entry preparation.

• Knowledge of ledger journal entries and month-end journal entries.

• Ability to prepare journal entries.

• Understanding of depreciation and depreciation schedule.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Proven leadership and team management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting standards.
