Description

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud, AWS for government, team is hiring a cleared Cloud Engineer to join the team.

Would you like to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve the world's most complex technical problems? Do you have a deep passion and desire to engineer and operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure to build a better world for future generations?

The FEDS Data Streaming team in Denver builds and operates Kinesis Data Streams (KDS), Amazon Data Firehose (ADF), Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK), and Managed Service for Flink (MSF). We also troubleshoot critical issues for messaging services such as Simple Queue Service (SQS), Simple Notification Service (SNS), and Amazon Message Broker (AMQ). We are seeing exciting growth in the ADC User Community as builders migrate toward serverless data processing applications, which are fueled by our services. These services require talented and versatile engineers to scale seamlessly with unpredictable traffic, feed AI/ML models with real-time information, and abstract continuous optimizations to each services’ underlying system architecture. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.

This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities

This position is perfect for you if you’re interested in creating tools and automation so that engineers can be as hands-off as possible for deployment and maintenance activities. We want our services to be as automated as possible, and that can only be done by having professionals who understand how to think big, simplify solutions to complex, never before seen problems; all while ensuring that the customer continues to have the best experience possible.

We are seeking an engineer who is focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations. This professional should also have a good understanding of Linux, networking and general knowledge of cloud services. At Amazon we have a drive to create the best customer experience possible, with the customers being both AWS customers and the other engineers at AWS who will benefit from collaborative contributions to ongoing operations and improving our support to our service.
