Intermountain Health Clinical Research Coordinator in Denver, Colorado

Job Description:

This position assists in managing clinical research studies of Intermountain Health and is responsible for the efficient coordination of clinical studies by working closely with clinical investigators, physicians, department managers and others.

Scope

Prepares for study initiation by gaining an in-depth knowledge of the protocol, developing patient recruitment plans, developing operational implementation plans for impact to care site resources

Screens potential patients for protocol eligibility. Presents trial concepts and details to the patients, participates in the informed consent process, and enrolls patients to study.

Coordinates patient care in compliance with protocol requirements. May disburse investigational drugs and maintains investigational drug accountability (if applicable). Responsible for reviewing protocol specific billing guides and submitting billing information to appropriate personnel. Participates in data collection, entry, and reporting for the subjects.

In collaboration with the treating physician, reviews patients for changes in condition, adverse events, concomitant medication use, protocol compliance, response to study drug and thoroughly documents all findings. May be responsible for education of clinic staff regarding clinical research.

Participates in required training and education programs as well as monitoring and auditing activities. May work directly with sponsors. May participate in scheduling monitoring and auditing visits, as well as interact with the monitors/auditors while on site.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Bachelors degree in a clinical or scientific related discipline

Three years of experience in a clinical or scientific related discipline

Four years of experience in a clinical or scientific related discipline and associates degree may be substituted for the bachelors degree

Experience in Microsoft office

Preferred

IATA Training

SoCRA or ACRP certification upon eligibility

Knowledge of medical terminology

Experience working with physicians.

Knowledge of FDA regulations and GCP

Experience in electronic medical record systems, clinical trial management systems, and electronic data capture systems.

Able to assist in the packing and shipping of lab specimens to central vendors.

Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to travel to all care site locations is required.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$22.67 - $38.98
