Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Project Engineer with at least 1 year of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate should be proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules. This role involves supporting commercial projects in the Denver Metro Area and Boulder. Familiarity with Procore software is considered a plus.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Contract document interpretation

  • Procore software

  • Ability to work on fast paced projects which may run 6 weeks long

  • Acting as liaison with Architects, Subcontractors, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors and other job staff and Owner's

  • Representatives in resolving issues related to plans and specifications.

  • Overseeing and making decisions related to contract drawings and subcontract information. Ensuring that all drawings and specifications properly relate to the estimate.

  • Assisting to manage the project budget.

  • Managing/processing submittals and shop drawings. Assessing conformance to contract specifications. Resolving any conflicts in interpretation.

  • Negotiating Change Orders. Managing information on changes in the Work; preparing an independent analysis, as require; obtaining and checking estimates for the changes from subcontractor; obtaining approval of the Architect and Owner; and resolving any conflicts.

  • Overseeing the close-out process. Preparing final records for the project such as Requests for Information (RFI's), close-out records, warranties, as-builts, Operations and Maintenance manuals (O&Ms), attic stock, and spare parts, and evaluating information to insure compliance with contract documents. Subcontract & vendor close, final payment & records retention.

  • Assisting in preparing Scope of Work documents for trades.

  • Assist in developing & creating reports such as General Conditions Items, labor, safety, Change Order logs Constraint Logs, Inspection Check Lists and Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC).

  • Scheduling, documenting, and managing subcontractor trade coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings. submittal review meetings, and all job meetings, owner-architect, and coordination meetings.

  • Meet deadlines.

  • Communication: Communicate well with Admin, and all team members respectfully. Resolve issues in a proactive + communicative manner.

  • The position may require the new hire to be assigned to a project with specific badging or other security requirements

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Denver, Colorado.

The role involves working closely with a dynamic team including the Owner, a Project Manager, Sr. Superintendent, Operations Manager, and Superintendent.
