Blue Origin, LLC FPGA Firmware Engineer III in Denver, Colorado

The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on development, manufacturing, and operation of satellite systems to address one of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space mobility. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will develop, implement, verify, and test firmware for systems operating in harsh environments and under demanding conditions. To be successful in this role, one should have experience developing firmware for FPGA-based avionics systems and a deep understanding of FPGA development languages such as VHDL or Verilog. Knowledge of FPGA development tools and methodologies, including simulation, synthesis, and verification, is also key to success. This role will stretch your creativity and challenge your abilities. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Special Mentions Relocation providedResponsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop firmware requirements in coordination with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and subsystem owners. Develop FPGA designs and implementations using hardware description languages. Perform verification using simulation, Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, OVM, and UVM techniques. Author tests and documentation and participate in design reviews.Minimum Qualifications B.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, related field, or related experience. 4+ years of FPGA/ASIC design and verification work experience. Firmware development skills in real-time embedded systems, particularly Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL. Experience crafting, developing, and verifying high-performance FPGA or ASIC solutions for highly integrated (SW and HW) systems. Proven understanding of NASA Procedural Requirements NPR 7150.2, DO-254 as compliance for the design assurance of electronic hardware in airborne systems or other safety-critical software standards. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and build a culture of teamwork. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications 6+ years of FPGA/ASIC development experience. Experience with Modelsim or Questasim simulators and Synopsys design tools from vendors such as Microchip, Xilinx, and/or Altera.
