LynxConnect was established in 2019 as a one-stop shop for students to pursue opportunities outside the classroom as they related to their career goals. The offices housed in LynxConnect include the the Career Center (career counseling and employer relations), The Experiential Learning Center (Internships), The Office of Global Education (study abroad) and Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities.

The coordinator is responsible for day-to-day business operations and guest relations, for LynxConnect teams Including the Career Center, Experiential Learning Center, Office of Global Education, and Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities

Guest Relations & Administrative Services Coordinator

What you will do:

  • Run the day-to-day operations of the LynxConnect offices, which include greeting students, employers, faculty, staff, and guests that enter the LynxConnect physical space, as well as manage the shared email boxes, and main phone lines.

  • Assists students, faculty, staff, and other constituents by providing information on our services including career, internships, study abroad, and undergraduate research.

  • Manage LynxConnect internal and external space reservation requests.

  • Purchasing and promotional and educational materials.

  • Approve job postings in Handshake, the university job board, and approve alumni and student account requests.

  • Identify, schedule, and organize unit meetings and team-building events.

  • Maintain supplies, office equipment, and employee technology, including coordination of maintenance and repair.

  • Manage AHEC Facilities' work orders for the space, and coordinate mail services.

  • Schedule presentations for career counseling team, including calendar management, and working with the Associate Director on availability, content and follow up with faculty.

  • Manage HCM (Human Capital Management) functions for the CDIL team (hiring/terms, timesheet and leave uploads, position data, etc.), serving as a liaison with campus HR for the CDIL team.

  • Screens, selects, and trains applicants for all student administrative positions.

  • Assist with projects for any of the offices in LynxConnect as needed.

  • Maintain, monitor, and restock kitchen and office supplies. Oversee coordination of shared kitchen duties among LynxConnect occupants

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in business, communication, marketing, public affairs, hospitality, psychology, liberal arts, or other relevant fields.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 1-3 years' experience in hospitality, customer service, retail, or business administration preferred

  • Familiarity with recruiting or CRM software (Handshake, Symplicity, 12Twenty, Salesforce, etc).

  • Experience with data collection and reporting preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess the ability to develop and maintain relationships with diverse populations. This includes students, faculty, staff, and employers from a wide variety of social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to work independently, highly motivated and results driven.

  • Excellent customer service, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to create a welcoming environment and greet a diverse clientele with enthusiasm.

Conditions of Employment

  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.

  • This position requires an onsite presence on campus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $40,096 - $44,316.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Pending the offered salary, this position may or may not be eligible for overtime compensation.
