The Department of Architecture in the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver is seeking a pool of Lecturers from which future appointments will be made. Lecturers selected from this pool will teach six-credit-hour design studios in the Department of Architecture's undergraduate and/or graduate programs. These may include lectures/studios in all teaching modes (in-person, hybrid, online, remote).

What you will do:
Lecturers that are hired to teach design studios are expected to have expertise and experience in architectural design. This includes knowledge of different design paradigms, design skills, and approaches to project design. A successful applicant must be able to develop and manage student projects through constructive criticism, the use of technologies ranging from technical drafting to advanced digital design tools and visualization software. If applying to a non-studio course the applicant must possess and be able to demonstrate expertise in the area of focus.
If an applicant has an area of expertise other than or in addition to a design studio and would like to be considered to teach a three-credit-hour course, the applicant should highlight this interest in a cover letter.
Compensation and Benefits
The hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this position has been established at: $5,618 for a 3-credit hour course and/or $8,322 for a 6-credit hour course.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is/is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
- A bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field is required.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
Preference will be given to applicants with a professional degree in architecture or a terminal degree in a related field.
Additional preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience, and/or professional registration, and/or a record of professional practice in architecture.
Conditions of Employment
This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees/Faculty can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office/classroom is encouraged when working on tasks requiring high collaboration or when in person instruction is required.

Physical Requirements
The primary physical requirements for a lecturer position usually involve being able to stand for extended periods, walk around a classroom, use hands to write on a board or operate technology, speak clearly and project a speaking voice, as well as have good vision to read and see students in the room
Occasional lifting of light materials like books or papers may also be needed depending on the role.
