SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supervises all manufacturing engineering activities to enable production processes at optimal capacity. Drives continuous improvements in production methods and processes. Leads preparation of Manufacturing CAPEX planning to ensure the day-to-day operations

run smoothly and efficiently toward strategic Operation Excellence and Business Growth goals and key projects. Fosters close collaboration with internal stakeholders including Maintenance and Tooling, etc.

REPORTING TO : Global Director of Engineering

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and develops Manufacturing Engineering team members.

  • Manages daily workflow, monthly work plan and GDP action items of the team.

  • Manages Manufacturing Engineering team members’ performance and development in accordance with company policy.

  • Assesses cost effectiveness and efficiency of existing manufacturing processes; makes recommendations and executes optimization strategy to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and processes across the organization.

  • Partners with Continuous Improvement (CI) Team to ensure CI principles are applied to Manufacturing process design and optimization.

  • Plans, prepares, and completes required capital appropriation request (CAR) for short-term and mid-term CAPEX projects e.g., equipment modernization, plant renovation and expansion.

  • Provides Engineering guidance for Maintenance Supervisor and/or staff in performing successful Maintenance programs.

  • In partnership with EHS Manager, ensures manufacturing processes are in compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.

  • Prepares and implements the departmental budget.

  • Manages Manufacturing Engineering Projects

  • Collaborates with other manufacturing managers, Engineering and Senior leadership to set Manufacturing Engineering priorities.

  • Ensures the Manufacturing Engineering team creates and maintains its project matrix deliverables.

  • Coordinates Manufacturing Project Manufacturing reviews, preparing & publishing metrics, and reports in coordination with other departments (e.g., Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain, etc.)

  • Manages all foreseeable risks and requirements of the Manufacturing programs by planning, controlling, implementing projects, and measuring deliverable metrics are achieved successfully.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.

MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE:

  • Achieve aggressive target improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

  • Equipment Availability / Uptime / OEE

  • Maintenance Spares / Repair Cost

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience in other relevant industrial management and engineering fields required.

  • 3 years experience in industrial manufacturing

Physical Demands:

  • Requires use of hands and arms at least 90% of the time.

  • Majority of the time is spent sitting.

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 35 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Climate-controlled office environment.

  • The employee will occasionally visit customer site for troubleshooting design.

  • Noise exposure is moderate.

Mental/Visual Demands:

  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are required to perform the job functions.

  • Peripheral vision is required for safety.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $104,000.00 - $156,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
