University Of Denver Part-Time OLLI @ DU On-Campus Program Coordinator & Curricul in Denver, Colorado

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Denver (OLLI at DU) is an adult learning membership program designed for inquiring adults, age 50 and "better," who wish to pursue lifelong learning in a relaxed non-competitive atmosphere. OLLI members come from diverse backgrounds and professions and share the desire to stay intellectually active and engaged. No one is a stranger for long at OLLI because everyone who joins has the same desire to learn and share expertise in the company of peers. Thanks to the generosity of The Bernard Osher Foundation, OLLI at DU joins a network of more than 125 institutes across the U.S. that are helping older learners find personal fulfillment.

Position Summary

The OLLI at DU On Campus Program Coordinator reports directly to the On Campus Manager/Curriculum Manager and to the OLLI at DU Co-Executive Director for Technology, Operations, Finance, and Curriculum. The primary responsibility is to support the On Campus/Curriculum Manager in overseeing the operation of the OLLI On Campus program and to provide assistance in curriculum and catalog development.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position not to exceed 500 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

OLLI On Campus Program

  • Assist the OLLI at DU On Campus Manager in the operation of the On Campus program.
  • Maintain supplies for campus- mugs, bags, name tent cards, pens.
  • Provide snow closure information to OLLI at DU Support Specialist to put on voicemail and on website for OLLI On Campus courses.
  • Prepare nametags for new in-person members.
  • Assist members with registration by being available via email during first two weeks of registration each term.
  • Assist with in-person courses at the campus, as needed, including preparation of class roster, AV equipment, general member assistance.
  • Assist On Campus Manager with open houses, facilitator recognition events, and other special campus events.
  • Assist On Campus Manager in the submission of data for a Master Course Spreadsheet with information on course, course meeting dates, facilitators.
  • Assist On Campus Manager with program data (facilitator and volunteer recognition, course history).
  • Assist On Campus Manager, in collaboration with the articles for the monthly OLLI at DU Constant Contact newsletter (spotlights on courses, facilitators, events at the campus).
  • Maintain a list of suggested facilitators and classes - using data from evaluation forms and from member input. OLLI at DU Catalog Development

  • Provide support in the development of the OLLI at DU catalog of course and webinar offerings.

  • Assist the Curriculum Manager with the compilation of data for the Core Curriculum Committee's use.
  • Provide assistance in the development of reports of registration data for all OLLI courses each term. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Personable; ability to interact well with variety of people; able to anticipate needs

  • Organized - able to juggle multiple priorities at once
  • Good communications skills Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience in adult education; preferably with those over 50

  • Technology skills

  • Experience with Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS)

  • Experience with Adobe products
  • Experience with Zoom

Work Schedule

This part-time position of up to 500 hours per year has a flexible schedule as the duties dictate.

Work Environment

There is not a designated office. The primary class sites for OLLI at DU On Campus in-person courses are Golden and Broomfield, Colorado.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for the position is $21.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range.
