Job Summary

Under general supervision, coordinates multiple projects from a small to large scale. Manages status reporting, stability of assigned project-oriented work efforts, customer expectations for contracted time, cost, and requirements definitions. Provides a single point of contact for project assignments. Assembles project plans and teamwork assignments. Directs and monitors work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, facilitating quality reviews, and escalating functional, quality, or timeline issues appropriately. Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, schedule, budget, issues, risks, and resources of the work effort being managed.

The Project Manager II will serve as single point of contact for the scheduling optimization tactic within the Access and Quality strategic initiative. The tactic aims to move Denver Health from disparate and manual patient scheduling processes to standardized and adaptable scheduling processes and tools. The project manager will work closely with the consultants and with every discipline at Denver Health impacted by this project to ensure both the consultants and Denver Health stay on track with expected timeline and deliverables. The project manager will schedule all project meetings with specialty areas identified, as well as with leaders and executive sponsors, take notes/minutes, keep process owners updated on progress, create presentations, updates and material for Denver Health leaders to share broadly, and work through issues when logistical barriers arise. Experience with health care access and scheduling and the Epic Electronic Health Record a plus.

This position is for a fixed term through December 2026.

Essential Functions:

Builds and manages all project deliverables; directs, monitors, and validates project team member performance; drives project work efforts to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget; identifies risk and develops appropriate response strategies; identifies and manages issues to include appropriate escalations. (40%) Educates sponsors, stakeholders, project team members, and affected users/staff on the project management process and any relevant policies and procedures; proactively promotes gathering of feedback and recommendations from all customers. (10%) Develops and executes appropriate communication strategies with all key project stakeholders to ensure project success; ensures all project communications are organized, accurate, comprehensive, created for the target audience, and timely. (10%) Develops and maintains relationships with all vendors to maintain active engagement and support, thereby ensuring all project tasks are addressed in a timely manner and handled with mutual respect, trust, and excellence. (10%) Develops and implements quality control plans for all project deliverables to ensure appropriately high standards are achieved on a consistent basis. (5%) Monitors and communicates significant changes to quality control initiatives to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule and budget commitments while meeting customer expectations. (5%) Actively participates in and leads (when appropriate) formal and informal department, team, and organization functions. (5%) Monitors key performance indicators throughout the department, identifying areas for greater effectiveness, efficiency, and overall improvement. (5%) Collaborates proactively with other departments and serves as an advocate to the organizational ini iatives. (5%) Advocates and champions continuous improvement of project management processes; leverages and strives to expand knowledge of identified project management tools. (5%)

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience:

1-3 years Relevant experience defined as: experience in a dedicated project management role or a combination or project management and information systems. Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrates understanding of project management principles, processes, methodologies and tools. Knowledge of risk and change management techniques.
