Intermountain Health Registered Nurse Associate Occupational Health in Denver, Colorado

Job Description:

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for associates during onboarding and through the life cycle of employment

Scope

  1. Develop and implement health and safety programs.

  2. Document all employee injuries and illnesses within the workplace.

  3. Observe and assess the work environment for potential dangers and hazards.

  4. Treat injuries and illnesses for employees, including follow-ups and referrals.

  5. Oversee and implement Associate Health emergency and disaster preparedness programs and planning in collaboration with the Incident command team.

  6. Counsel employees on physical and mental health issues and guiding them toward community resources and/or employee assistance programs.

  7. Monitor the health status of employees.

  8. Conduct research on the effects of hazardous work conditions or workplace exposures, which may include gathering data and reporting findings to the employer.

  9. Perform general administrative and patient care tasks in accordance with the Scope of Practice, and other established policies and procedures.

  10. Possess the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multidisciplinary care team.

  11. Required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.

  12. Perform routine tests including but not limited to hearing and vision screens.

  13. Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up as appropriate to ensure completion of testing.

  14. Communicate test results to patients and establish a plan of care in person, by phone or mail as directed by the provider.

  15. Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.

  16. Stock patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization, and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.

  17. Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager and/or healthcare provider(s).

  18. Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.

  19. Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.

  20. Works and maintains the front office/desk for the department.

  21. Answer the phone in a courteous and timely manner.

  22. Maintains appointments.

  23. Processes associate transfers and immunization records.

  24. Data entry into various Intermountain Health data systems.

  25. Processes billing and invoices of the department which includes contact with vendors and internal accounts payable.

  26. Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

  27. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ASN from an accredited program; BSN within 4 years

  • Current Colorado RN license- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association- One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting, preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification, Occupational Health

  • Certification, Certified Case Management

  • Certification of Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$29.78 - $52.91
