Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Nursing Education, Research, and Innovation, the RN Education Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing education department. This includes managing nursing education staff, budgeting, and developing educational programs and courses. Oversees and maintains various technology systems, including Learning Management Systems. Provides professional development opportunities though Nursing Grand Rounds, and RN clinical orientation. Promotes a positive and supportive environment for nursing students and nursing pathway programs, encouraging collaboration with academic partners. Serves as the main liaison with the accrediting body for continuing education hours, provides continuing education hour certificates and ensures accurate documentation and reporting. Oversees the nursing clinical ladder program, ensuring that it is effectively implemented and aligned with nursing professional development standards. Manages the American Heart Association training program. Leads the Nursing Professional Development Council, facilitating meetings, setting agendas, and driving initiatives that enhance nursing education and professional growth within the organization. Provides guidance and support to clinical nurse educators, fostering their professional development and ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to support nursing staff education and competencies. Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and development of relevant policies, maintaining compliance and organizational guidelines. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Leadership: Scope and Standards of Practice. Utilizes and supports Watson's Theory of Human Caring and Caritas Processes as a part of daily practice.

Essential Functions: 1. Operations * Plans and develops aspects of human resources management to include engagement, recruitment, and retention within the Nursing Education Department. * Leads the educational design process, nursing theory, nursing clinical expertise, standards of practice, evidence-based practice, and adult education principles to impact the quality of patient care as expert educator, consultant, and project manager. * Regularly evaluate the performance of technology systems, including the LMS, to ensure optimal functionality, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements. * Leads and maintains a culture of performance improvement and change management using Lean and other tools. * Designs and distributes marketing materials for educational activities. * Effectively manages and implements rapidly changing education issues and processes. * Develops and coordinates teaching strategies and programs for staff as applicable. * Manages the issuance of continuing education certificates, ensure accurate documentation, and submit annual reports and recertification applications. * Plans and assists in acquisition of new education products and systems. * Conducts an annual Educational Needs Assessment. * Submits an annual report detailing annual outcomes.

  1. Planning and Strategy
  • Leads strategic plan for overall education program.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and reviews project plans for strategic initiatives and/or proposals to monitor program effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with educational partners, and Academic Affairs, to integrate key education operations and standardize processes, increasing efficiency and eliminating waste.

  • Plans, develops, and oversees implementation, updates, and revisions to the Nursing Education sub-site.
  1. Financial Management
  • Leads, develops, revises, manages, and tracks annual budget for education programs and operates within the budget.
  • Tracks productivity for education department.
  • Collaborates with finance to ensure budget adjustments are documented and justified.
  • Develops expansion requests to support FTE's, supplies, and equipment to enhance the learner experience at Denver Health.
  • Collaborates with Denver Health Foundation to secure grant funding for education programs.
  1. Leadership
  • Leads, manages, advises, mentors, directs, and evaluates administrative personnel with fairness and accountability.
  • Performs continuous employee coaching and fosters teamwork, training, and development of administrative personnel.
  • Prepares and oversees all administrative performance reviews, ensuring compliance and adherence to hospital and departmental policies, objectives, and operational procedures.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship for Clinical Nurse Educators.
