Job Description
As a Subsea Network Planner for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you'll play a crucial role in expanding and scaling our next-generation cloud services. You'll be part of the Global Network Planning Group, making strategic decisions that shape our network infrastructure, data center subsea strategy, and market presence. This position will have you build and maintain strong relationships with subsea providers, which is crucial for OCI's growth and operational efficiency. Qualifications:
6-10+ years of experience in telecom, data center, or cloud infrastructure industries
Extensive knowledge of Internet interconnection, submarine cables, wavelengths, and fiber
Strong understanding of data center operations, subsea services, and industry trends
Experience in data center site selection and evaluation processes
Strong negotiation skills for subsea agreements, IP transit, wavelengths, and dark fiber contracts
Familiarity with financial modeling for deal evaluation and TCO analysis
Proficiency in Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, and Confluence
Willingness to travel for site due diligence and industry conferences
Strong negotiation skills with a focus on creating win-win scenarios in long-term partnerships
Ability to build and maintain professional networks within the subsea and data center industry
Understanding of data center contract structures, including power pricing models, SLAs, and expansion options
Familiarity with industry standards and certifications relevant to data center operations (e.g., Uptime Institute Tiers, ISO certifications)

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Lead subsea business development initiatives for network growth, by evaluating and selecting optimal data center partners and locations
Negotiate subsea connectivity agreements and commercial deals that meet technical requirements and support growth
Develop TCO models for deal analysis in new and existing markets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on long term subsea strategy with business objectives
Facilitate open communication channels between OCI's technical teams and subsea providers' operations teams
Represent OCI to senior technical leaders and executives at partner companies
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with a diverse portfolio of subsea partners and data center operators
Negotiate favorable terms, SLAs, and pricing structures with subsea providers, ensuring alignment with OCI's growth plans
Stay informed about industry trends, mergers and acquisitions, and new market entrants in the subsea space
The ability to document your decisions and recommendations to internal technical leadership as well as VPs and SVPs

US: Hiring Range: from $79,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
