Job Title: Maintenance Planning Supervisor (Technical Support)

Salary: £45,300 - £56,000 depending on experience

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Contract: Full time & permanent

The Opportunity :

As a Maintenance Planning Supervisor , you will be a key driver of best practices within the maintenance team. You will be responsible for implementing robust maintenance processes and safety practices as well as ensuring equipment on site is maintained to a relevant schedule and level of work, dependent on data and manufacturer recommendations. You will be a key driver of team development and ensuring training is provided to maximise the skill level within the team.

What You Will Do:

As Maintenance Planning Supervisor , your accountabilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Creating work plans for staff and contractors using data driven decisions; reviewing the maintenance work performed by technicians and ensuring a world class maintenance management system is in operation to maximise output and reduce waste.

  • Enforcement of safe work systems and documented safe procedures for all planned maintenance tasks as well as the creation of dynamic systems to control unplanned works

  • Leads a team and coaches and mentors the team to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving individual development

  • Enhancing the stock management and stock management system as well as integrating systems into the maintenance management system to gain maximum efficiency in processes.

What you can demonstrate :

  • Planning :

  • Demonstrate the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan and allocates relevant resources to meet business goals.

  • Proactively reviews projects with the relevant people, identifies and communicates risks and creates contingency plans.

  • Diagnose problems and malfunctions in a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and designs procedures for preventive measures to help improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Train the team, as well as equipment operators, on how to prolong the life span of manufacturing equipment.

  • Updates preventive maintenance systems for all schedules of manufacturing equipment.

  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM):

  • Advocates for the proactive, timely, and autonomous maintenance of machinery and equipment.

  • Consults with management for modifying business processes to optimize overall equipment efficiency.

  • Demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing planned maintenance policies and programs.

  • Lead discussions on the performance of maintenance strategies and programs in improving the effectiveness of machinery.

  • Provides guidance and advice for resolving prominent planned maintenance implementation challenges.

What you may have:

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired

  • Experience in different forms of maintenance practices such as condition-based maintenance, Root cause correction etc.

  • IOSH Managing safely
