Job Summary:

The Relay Technician I & II position is an and requires and high degree of supervision and limited exercise of judgement. The focus of this role is primarily on individual projects and assignments that are designed to develop professional engineering knowledge and abilities. The Relay Technician I & II must be able to apply basic engineering principles, specifications, policies and procedures. The primary impact of their decisions is on the project.

What we Offer:

The salary range for this position is starting at $30 per hour - Commensurate, depending on relevant experience, education, and qualifications. We also offer semi-annual profit-sharing bonuses based on company profits to share in the mutual success! In the past, these have ranges between 3.5% - 11.5% of annual salary.

Who You Are:

  • 2-year or 4-year BS Engineering Degree (ABET accredited degree) OR other technical training deemed equivalent i.e., military background etc.

  • Competent understanding of math

  • Mechanical and technical skills including the ability to understand electrical concepts such as 3 phase AC, DC, Power (Watts and Vars), complex numbers, a basic understanding of DC and AC elementaries.

  • Ability to understand what the equipment in the substation yard is and a general idea of its function in the substation.

  • Using various computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other client specific engineering programs.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Excellent organizational skill

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Tests relays and helps an experienced test engineer perform tasks related to testing a transmission or distribution substation.

  • Use knowledge of basic engineering principles to ensure projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Work under direct supervision on individual projects

  • Apply technical skills while working on a project to ensure projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner
