Henry Ford Health System CQI Auditor & Education Specialist- Full time- Neurosurgery Research Lab in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY :

  • Collaborative Quality Initiative (CQI) programs are state-wide, quality improvement collaboratives involving facilities and providers who seek to measure and improve the care and outcomes of patients.

  • The CQI programs are supported by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) as part of the BCBSM Value Partnerships program.

  • Every Michigan CQI program is supported by a Coordinating Center which are currently housed at Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) in Detroit and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

  • The Auditor & Educational Specialist will serve as the interface between the Program Directors, Program Manager, Coordinating Center staff and participating sites for quality assurance, and will be responsible working closely with the Program Manager to ensure data quality, partner engagement, and disseminate and implement of CQI resources.

  • The Auditor & Educational Specialist develops training and educational materials that are both site specific and state-wide, in addition to conducting annual site audits.

  • The Auditor & Educational Specialist performs all duties independently and professional with minimal or no direction and consults with the Program Manager and Directors as appropriate.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.

  • Master's degree in Nursing or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience required.

  • Experience in educational curriculum design and delivery is an asset.

  • Experience with new program/initiative development, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Care Plus, electronic mail and Internet navigation software.

  • Ability to problem solve independently and work with minimal direction.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work with senior leaders and large teams with diverse members.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.

  • Ability to adapt, respond and prioritize in a rapidly changing health care environment and ability to successfully manage multiple competing demands.

  • Ability to act as a change agent, providing direction to others and gaining their support.

  • Basic understanding of the research process and statistical analysis.

  • Strong leadership/mentoring skills and customer service skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System.

  • Strong base of patient safety knowledge including human factors and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.

  • Understanding of health care cultures including medical and nursing cultures.

  • Sound decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.

  • CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan required.
