*JOB SUMMARY: *The Bilingual (English/Spanish) Financial Education & Empowerment Coach position offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to work in a growth-oriented program, Center for Working Families (CWF), that is dedicated to helping low to moderate-income families change financial behavior, build assets, and become financially stable. CWF provides individualized financial coaching for participants to help empower them to reach target goals, including credit score, budgeting, saving, utilization of quality financial services, and asset development. The Financial Education & Empowerment Coach will work directly with families/individuals in our program to ensure that families reach their educational, financial, and asset goals.  The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with experience in personal financial education and homebuyer education and has a strong desire to work with a diverse group of people with varying needs.  The wage for the position ranges from $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.  The compensation package Includes paid vacation time, health insurance, a flexible spending account, an employee assistance program, and 401 K eligibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitates financial education workshops such as money management, credit and banking, mortgage loans, home buying, and avoiding predatory lenders.
  2. Conduct intake for participants seeking financial counseling assistance.
  3. Conducts individual counseling on topics such as credit and debt management, savings, budgeting, special assistance programs for homeownership, foreclosure intervention, and other topics as appropriate.
  4. Assists the participant in developing a personal financial plan to meet their Financial Goals.
  5. Exposes participants to financial products and services such as check cashing alternatives, flexible financial products, and affordable housing products.
  6. Assists the participant in devising a debt liquidation plan that includes payoff priorities and timelines.
  7. Provides information on Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) and assists with the application process.
  8. Maintains follow-up contact with participants on matters discussed in counseling sessions.
  9. Refers participants to the community or financial agencies to obtain services outlined in the financial plan.
  10. Creates and maintains partnerships with financial institutions, real estate agencies, lending institutions, financial industry professionals, and community-based organizations.
  11. Maintains program database, including data collection, input, and program reporting.
  12. Represent the organization in various community forums and conduct program presentations.
  13. Performs other duties that will contribute to the program's team effort.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or another related field. 

Two to four years of related experience in personal financial education, homebuyer education, and/or foreclosure intervention counseling preferred.
