HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT I

Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant I (HR Assistant) will perform a wide range of duties and responsibilities involving the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports for the Human Resources Department for the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN).   As this employee gains experience, this employee may perform more complex Human Resource duties and responsibilities.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs specialized office work requiring knowledge of DWIHN policies and procedures.

``` - Performs a wide range of duties involving the maintenance and processing of DWIHN personnel records and reports. - Interacts with and supplies information to job applicants, DWIHN staff,  public and private agencies.

``` - Assists with creating and disseminating DWIHN HR correspondence. - Assists with the development and maintenance of confidential information/files. - Responds to HR inquiries and requests. - Tracks DWIHN HR actions and correspondence within the HR office. - Composes and sends out standard acknowledgments and follow up letters on a scheduled basis.

``` - Acts as a liaison between the Director of Human Resources, the Administrative Team and DWIHN staff.

``` - Develops policies and procedures pertaining to administrative and operational functions.

``` - Works with DWIHN management departments in resolving issues related to operations and administration. - Conducts and completes independent research projects. - Develops and prepares informational documents, i.e. correspondence, presentations, graphs and charts for the Director of Human Resources. - Assists with the coordination of internal and external meetings, conference calls and other engagements, conferences and activities for the Director of Human Resources.

``` - Creates documents for submission to internal departments and external agencies. - Facilitates internal and external meetings as identified by the Director of Human Resources - including performing work activities related to said meetings. - Responds to stakeholder inquiries and develops a tracking and monitoring mechanism for response to these inquiries. - Assists with new employee onboarding. - Assists with maintaining employee files. - Assists with Human Resource recruiting activities. - Assists DWIHN HR staff with clerical and administrative functions for benefits administration. - Assists DWIHN HR staff with clerical and administrative functions for labor relations administration. - Assists with HR Training and Development activities. - Assists with DWIHN compensation activities. - Performs related duties as assigned.
