This position directs a team of Business and Community Development Managers engaged in a full-service, regional development strategy. Proactively engages with companies and communities to create an environment conducive to business growth and expansion, community and place-based enhancement, and comprehensive economic and community development in the region. Directs matrix teams, cross-organizationally, for efficient and effective execution of MEDC strategy and organizational alignment.

This position is field-based with the candidate's home office being the official workstation. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Required Education and Experience
Education:This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Economics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:This position requires a minimum of eight years related experience and/or training in managing, developing and implementing economic and/or community development initiatives and retention strategies and visions.
The preferred candidate will possess at least five years of management experience, with a solid background in community development. They should demonstrate expertise in planning and strategic thinking related to real estate development, community revitalization, and associated challenges, particularly in the context of optimizing available resources.
Preference will also be given to candidates who reside in Wayne County.
