Project Assistant (Research) - Department of Emergency Medicine

Essential functions (job duties):

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, provide scientific and technical assistance to complete population and public health projects. Assist in program recruitment and retention. May assist with other community engagement projects as directed.

Recruitment and Retention: Assists with recruiting participants for multiple population and public health projects from the emergency departments and other settings. Coordinates follow up for participants to ensure they are linked to the necessary services and resources.

Project Design and Implementation: Assist Principal Investigator and program manager with program development and implementation. Participate in implementing project objectives, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and protocol guidelines. Assist with training staff on project protocols.

Maintain Community Partnerships: Attend community meetings. Work with internal and external partners on project related activity.

Maintain the work area: Order and organize required supplies and records. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Unique duties:

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience Entry level: (less that a year of job-related experience)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to work independently.

· Ability to communicate in writing and verbally, empathetically, effectively, and professionally to a diverse population.

· Ability to fluently speak, read, and write English.

· Ability to clearly and effectively present information one-on-one and in groups.

· Knowledge of scientific integrity principles.

· Excellent time management and organization skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft office software skills.
