Job Summary Under the direction of DMC Group and Hospital executive leadership, and in conjunction with the goals of the hospital service line team(s), responsible for overseeing the Project Management activities and projects for assigned hospital site(s). Manages projects for departments, functional areas and facilitates implementation of projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Develops key metrics related to system-wide projects to ensure expected outcomes are achieved, and continually monitors progress.
· Gathers data, directs analysis, and designs project plan.
· Creates and monitors project metrics and continuously monitors progress flow.
· Works within project budget and
timeframes and changes or refines work plan to adapt to changing requirements (i.e.,
timeframe, priorities, budget, etc.).
· Acts on behalf of the customer based on a thorough assessment and understanding of their needs.
· Takes responsibility for follow through and resolution of customer issues.
· Assists in identifying key project members and forms/directs project teams based on assignments.
· Actively manages all personnel involved in a project or workflow.
· Monitors progress against milestones or deadlines to ensure quality deliverables are provided on time and customer needs are met.
· Sets clear standards and expectations and holds self and project team accountable to them.
· Resolve conflicts, as needed, and gain group consensus.
· Prepares and presents project updates and presentations to executive team as requested.
· Informs leadership of project status, including changes that may affect scheduling and resource levels.
· Conducts special studies as requested and oversees system-wide projects, as needed.
· Manages periodic project reporting (financial measures, volume/EBITDA, etc.) to senior executive leadership. Manages other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
:
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Health Services or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Five (5) years of progressively more responsible performance improvement / engineering experience, including experience in project management, meeting facilitation with both administrative and operational stakeholders, growth strategies/programs development, and leadership experience.
3. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Experience in Six Sigma or LEAN are preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities:
1. Analytical ability to define functional, unit or service procedures, to independently oversee the application of methods, guides, and processes, to apply sound judgment in choosing proper course of action among multiple options, to interpret policies, to assist in planning short to mid-range goals and determining measures, and to assess and monitor progress toward function/area goal attainment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build a team of internal and external project personnel, to facilitate meetings and make presentations to executive leadership, for frequent contact with internal customers as well as stakeholders external to DMC to persuade or negotiate on a wide range of subjects in situations which may be controversial, sensitive and or lead to confrontation. A mastery of a variety of communication modalities is required to include leading meeting, making formal presentations, and writing complex documents.
- Project management skills including the ability to define program, project, or process objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, technological, and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner.
- Leadership skills including demonstrated willingness to pursue leadership roles with increasing levels of accountability, comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and counseling skills, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances and garner support.
- Ability to utilize project management software.
