Requirements:
Education: LPN Certification in Nursing
Certification: Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Missouri or compact state
Experience: At least one year experience as an LPN or RN in an acute care setting and/or one year of home health experience.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepares and implements classroom training for all new employees. Coordinates the classroom days with each supervisor to ensure adequate staffing is available for each area.
Prepares training packets for classroom and keeps an adequate supply ready at all times. Removes expired info/inserts new info to ensure training availability on short notice when necessary.
Keeps orientation outline and manual updated on an ongoing basis.
Assumes responsibility for planning and implementing the OSHA & Alzhiemer homemaker InServices per fiscal year and supplemental InServices as applicable. Each InService must be a minimum of two hours and must be documented in each employee's file. All meetings must meet guidelines of the standards from the Division of Aging and Area Agency on Aging.
Ability to plan and coordinate the InService program of an agency.
Maintains training rosters of each InService and submits to the Education department in a timely manner for documentation into personnel files. Assure staff is notified in timely manner to meet these standards.
Attends all InService meetings in assigned areas scheduled for the homemakers.
Orientation of all new full-time personnel.
Home Health orientation for new nurses. May assist with copying manuals and preceptor packets for Home Health.
Assists Education Manager with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the orientation program for all new staff.
