What an awesome opportunity that's now been made available to serve in our ground-breaking Mechanical Engineering department at our Qatar Campus! Specifically the Program Aide will work on coordinating and overseeing the daily operational activities of a laboratory. This individual will also perform teaching duties and ensure adherence to lab standards and practices. Our successful hire will have proficient communication skills, knowledge of computers and mainframe environments and standard laboratory equipment. Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of computers and mainframe environments

• Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment

• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Responsibilities:

Laboratory Duties

• Coordinates and oversees the daily operational activities of a laboratory

• Ensures adherence to lab standards and practices

• Oversees procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies, chemical storage, safety labeling and inventory control

• Maintains inventory supplies and records

• Oversees the maintenance of laboratory facilities, equipment and instrumentation and arranges for repairs

• Evaluates existing laboratory facilities and recommends improvements

• Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for laboratory

• Develops procedures for the use of laboratory instrumentation

• Ensures proper storage, handling and disposal of laboratory waste

• Assists in the development and update of instructional materials for teaching laboratories

• Assists in the development and testing of new experiments and curricula

• Supervises laboratory staff and students in the handling and preparation of laboratory materials

Teaching Duties

• Coordinates teaching assignments for laboratory sections

• May teach undergraduate lab courses

• Performs other duties as assigned
