Job Description Summary
Administers programs designed to establish and maintain effective employee relations through the uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures. Audits organization to identify employee relations issues and recommends appropriate actions to address and resolve those issues. Develops policies related to assigned functions and ensures proper communications regarding related activities. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and laws.
Job Description
Essential Functions
Conducts investigations, analyzes information available, and works to resolve employee relations concerns
Provides guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices
Consults with leaders on corrective action and recommendations for termination
Helps identify corrective action measures to help support employee development and success
Provides training and feedback to leaders to support a strong leadership culture
Provides guidance to managers and human resources on employee relations related issues, which may include employee discipline, grievances and conflict resolution, work life balance, and the EAP program
Manages Employee Relations team
Manages the process to investigate and respond to complaints from external agencies
Works with HR department staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (ADA, FMLA, etc).
May serve on teams and committees as assigned by leader
May have responsibility in departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change
Serves as a member of the HR leadership team and be asked to support other HR leadership and staff functions to ensure department success
Performs other duties as requested by primary manager that do not compromise moral code of conduct or protocols set in place for patient or employee safety

Qualifications
Minimum Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar or equivalent of 4 to 6 years of experience
Minimum Education Preferred
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR designation
Minimum Experience Required
Three (3)years Human Resources experience in mature Employee Relations programs and/or Generalist experience
Formal training in problem solving specific to federal/state labor laws, EEO and policy/procedures
Minimum Experience Preferred
Experience in a healthcare setting
Working knowledge of all relevant federal, state and local employment laws and regulations :
Additional working knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards
Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Ability to utilize intranet/internet and e-mail
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of various educational levels via written and verbal formats
Ability to utilize the personal computer in windows format
Possess the ability to speak publicly representing the hospital and promoting a positive image
Ability to utilize standard office equipment e.g., copy machine, fax machine, multiple phone lines, personal computer and printer to perform necessary job duties
Performs complex tasks typically following established processes
