About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a talented and versatile Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team in New York! Our cloud-first SaaS platform is built on a robust Distributed Microservices Architecture and runs on technologies like Linux, Java, Vertx, Oracle, MySQL, Angular, and React. As we continue to scale, we need engineers who can not only tackle complex full-stack challenges but also bring leadership qualities and a passion for pushing technology forward.

Responsibilities

About You:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, or possess equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Have 5+ years of professional experience developing large-scale web applications, REST APIs, and adaptive, dynamic UIs.

  • Possess deep knowledge of both object-oriented and procedural programming, with the ability to apply the right approach based on the situation.

  • Experience working with both scripting and compiled languages, and proficient in OO languages like Java, C#, PHP8, and more.

  • Bring strong expertise in UI & API development, delivering seamless user experiences across platforms.

  • Demonstrate excellent proficiency in vanilla JavaScript (ES6) or TypeScript, along with libraries or frameworks like React, AngularJS, and others.

  • Skilled in designing and developing highly responsive UIs, interaction design, and customizing UI widgets, as well as integrating with cloud services for end-to-end functionality.

  • Have a solid understanding of web standards, accessibility compliance, and building inclusive web applications.

  • Well-versed in unit testing, integration testing, and ensuring overall software quality.

  • Experience with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, and more.

  • Familiarity with Git for version control.

  • Possess a refined eye for design, capable of facilitating productive discussions between the UI/UX design team and backend developers.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Redis, DynamoDB, etc.

  • Experience working on distributed systems and understanding of their architecture.

  • Familiarity with APEX, RAPID, OJET, or similar technologies.

  • Exposure to public cloud offerings such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performing, scalable, and fault-tolerant web applications and microservices that handle large-scale user interactions.

  • Architect and design major software components, systems, and features, presenting them to Lead Engineers for review and feedback.

  • Bring full-stack development experience to the table, with hands-on UI development expertise.

  • Manage your individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with strong technical acumen and problem-solving skills.

  • Navigate and refactor legacy codebases, applying design patterns and best practices to modernize and improve systems.

  • Actively contribute as part of an Agile Scrum team, participating in Sprint Planning, Grooming, and Daily Standups.

  • Mentor and guide junior team members on design techniques, coding standards, and best practices.

  • Design and develop flexible, robust, and responsive UIs that deliver seamless and engaging user experiences across all platforms.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
