Job Description Summary

The Project Management Office and Risk Management Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. The PMO & Risk Leader will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

In the capacity of running the Project Management Office the PMO and Risk Leader will also deputies the Region Leader to navigate a complex and demanding operation environment and drive the change in our vastly growing region - Central Europe.

The role will drive common methodology, processes, and expertise globally, promoting the project management culture and the execution excellence within GSI and in collaboration with the other Business Lines within Grid to develop first class global processes in project Management, coordinate the digitization effort and implement the relevant KPI and reporting to ensure P&L and regional targets are achieved.

In deputizing the Region Leader, the PMO & Risk Leader will drive cultural transformation throughout the regional organization. She/he will work closely with the functional leaders and BL Operations Leader to define the transformation program.

Job Description

Deputy Region Leader

Part of main mission as GSI Central Europe general manager deputy:

  • The Deputy Region Leader will have Delegation of Authority (DoA) from the Region Leader

  • Deputy Region Leader will be responsible for:

  • Customer: new contract and variation order to sign

  • Offers, claim preparation approval

  • Ensure collaboration across teams, drive decision making proposal, assure regional DoA / DoR as required to orchestrate the region P&L.

  • Margin deviation approval (leading project review requiring Regional Approval P&L preparation and presentation (supporting the Region Leader or leading as required). Align functional priorities with monthly cash, CM and convertibles.

  • Define the overall regional operating rhythm

  • Central Europe bowler preparation and presentation (supporting the Region Leader or leading as required)

  • To co-chair the GSI Region leadership meeting (supporting the Region Leader or leading as required)

Essential Responsibilities: Project Management

  • He/she will take advantage of their expertise in supporting review of new opportunities, supporting the Enterprise Risk Assessment across the GSI projects portfolio across the region, improving the performance and execution of active high-risks projects, working collaboratively with the project execution teams on effective mitigations and business strategies, and promoting best practices and tools for complex projects execution.

  • Manage, in a matrix environment, the risks assessment done by all participating functions across the product lines, engage in new opportunities evaluations, project reviews, maintain a risk register of turnkey execution challenges and mitigations, and promote Lessons Learnt back to the ITO and across the OTR teams, including the other Business Lines as relevant.

  • Drive key metrics such as proper deal structuring, margin enhancements (as executed Contract Margin (CM) greater than as sold), on time delivery/COD, risk mitigation, resource utilization, quality, safety etc. across the function, the regions and the other Business Lines as applicable. Implement consistent project KPI’s, reporting and scorecards across the Regions.

  • Promote a culture of open reporting, highlighting team’s key execution challenges and needed support and build a strong Business Line Project Management community to support resolution of complex project issues. Provide OTR Quality Management System (QMS) strategic guidance, setting compliance with PM industry’s standards

  • Drive consistency of methodology, Delegation of Authority (DoA), processes and tools across the region, identifying gaps and implementing improvements

  • Create a common framework of project execution and workload models for proper staffing of headquarter and regional teams.

  • Challenge status quo approach to project execution and drive effective best-in-class execution processes with focus on profitable growth, business strategy and customer value solution

  • Provide full scope of leadership for a team, including performance evaluation, annual assessment, salary planning, and employee development (competency assessment & certification).

  • Ensure overall application of project governance cycle. Organize portfolio reviews and progress

Essential Responsibilities: Risk Management

  • Provide financial and technical leadership for the Risk Management team in the development of risk management strategies and proposals for new and existing service contracts.

  • Provide financial & technical expertise in the development of an overall risk management strategy for the region, GSI and other Business Lines as required.

  • Accordingly, the PMO leader outlines the aggregated P&L risk exposure, potential risk mitigations, impact and forecast.

  • Ensure that during monthly pipeline reviews the ITO risk exposures of the P&L are considered.

  • Work to identify key opportunities for the application of risk assessment tools.

  • Develop processes to support the extended Risk Management team, Contract Managers, , Engineering staff, Sales and other GE Vernova / Grid Solutions stakeholders.

  • Lead efforts to automate modeling processes and analytical tools for more timely and accurate information sharing.

EHS

  • Demonstrate EHS leadership to ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team

  • Takes responsibility to reward and encourage direct reports to take proactive steps toward all matters related to EHS in the workplace.

  • Identifies and evaluate EHS risks in own area and implements practical measures in proactive partnership with operations and the local EHS team.

  • Participates in hierarchical/ team safety visits and leads EHS improvement initiatives as and when defined.

Quality & Lean

  • Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes at GSI level and Contract Management function

  • Report or resolve any non-conformances to process in a timely manner

  • Identify areas of opportunity for standardization / optimization and where possible participate in a Kaizen or similar lean event to implement any identified improvements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Significant experience (Project Manager and/or Risk manager for projects)

  • BS in Engineering -Engineering degree required, Project management certification, such as the PMP, is preferred
