Purpose of Job

The Shift Lead Technicianwillworkaspartofanoperationalteamtosupportthe Critical environment24/7/365.Theshiftleadwillmanagetheshiftteam,whoisresponsibleforthemonitoring, escalation, emergency response and operation of critical serviceswithinthedatacenter environment.Theshiftteamwilloperateoutofthecentralfacilitiesoperationcentreandwillensureall aspectsofthefacilityarecovered&monitoredduringtheirshift.TheShiftteamwill alsoworkalongside the dayoperationsteam to align CE equipmentthroughElectrical or Mechanicalswitching activities to facilitate break/fix and planned preventive maintenance (PM) activities across the campus.

The Shift Lead Technician will report directly to the Campus Operations Manager. Shift technicians will report directly into the Shift Lead on site.

Responsibilities include:

· BethemainpointofcontactontheShiftfortheclient&CBREmanagement.

· Monitor all critical systems across campus from the central facilities operation centre and ensure that all incidents are escalated and responded to as per Runbook and SLA metrics.

· Supervisionofthecentralfacilitiesoperationcentreandtheshiftteamduringyourshiftrotation.

· Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions in critical facility systems through the use of recognized escalation tools and EOPs.

· Work collaboratively with the Shift Supervisors in stabilizing affected systems during incident response. The shift lead will remain the incident owner and will close out the incident on satisfactory completion.

· Providedetailedstatus reportsduringincidentsthroughagreedchannels.

· Ensureallincidentnotificationsareuptodateduringyourshiftandthenclosedoutcorrectlyas per site procedures when the task is completed.

· StayabreastofchangesandimprovementinitiativesledbyCBREandtheclient.

· Be fully conversant with the facility Emergency Response Plan, EOPs, and act as the shift liaison with the security team during site emergencies.

· Provide a detailed shift handover report to the incoming shift team, this must be in a written format&supportedbyverbalhandoverfrom your shift team to the next – covering all aspects of the operation of the facility.

· Haveafulloverview&awarenessofallactivitiesinconjunctionwiththedaytechteam.

· Train in the operation of all critical facility systems across the campus as outlined in the site- specificCBREtrainingsyllabus.AreasincludeElectrical,Mechanical,BuildingMonitoring,Fire and Controls.

· Assist the day tech team in the shutting down/startups of equipment as per site operational procedures to support all PM/CM activities (MOP) carried out by the PM Team or Vendors.

· Ensureallmembersofyour shiftteamareusingtheCMMScorrectlytoreportallfacility related tasks, all technician time must be accounted for & recorded in CMMS.

· Foster a culture of continued professional development through mentoring team members andbuildingalessonslearnedandfeedbackrepositoryinconjunctionwithfellowshiftleads and supervisors.

· Lead and manage your team’s technical & personal development and appraisals within the constraintsofthecontractandCBREpolicies.ProvidedetailedreportstoCBREmanagement on this development showing progress & all appraisals/reviews are completed whenrequired.

· Author, Peer review, approve or carry out periodic reviews of all operational documentation(including EOP’s, Drills etc.) as issued by the Technical Manager.

· Ensureashiftauditiscarriedoutonallcriticalsystemswithinthecentralfacilitiesoperation centre – BMS, EPMS,and Fireworks etc. at the end of your shift.

· Mentoryourshiftteamtoprogressthroughalltrainingrequirementsonsite

· Carryoutdrills&completetoolboxtalksasperKPItracker.

· Adherencetoall quality,health&safety,andenvironmentalpolicies onsite.

· Ensurethatthecentralfacilitiesoperationcentre andallworkareasarecleanandtidyatalltimes

· Ensure you & your shift team wear the CBRE uniform including appropriate PPE as issued at alltimesandthat theprofessionalimageofCBREispresentedtoclientsandvisitorsatalltimes while on site.

· Taketheleadinonboardingandtrainingnewstaffmembersonyourshift.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Afullyverifiabletradequalificationinarelevantengineeringdisciplineandverifiableadditional training that is relevant to the proposed environment.

· UnderstandingofLVpowerdistributionandloading.Previousdatacentre(orsimilarlab) experience - desirable

· Anexcellentunderstandingandexperienceoftheelectricalandmechanicalsystemsusedina data Center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, CRAC units, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems.

· Experienceofcomplexautomaticcontrolequipment,includingrelaylogic,programmablelogic controllers(PLC’s),buildingmanagementsystems,andtheirintegrationwiththe data Centre infrastructure.

· Experienceofmediumvoltagedistributionsystems andassociatedswitchgearandprotectionequipment.

· Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with the client and with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data Centre systems.

· Computer literate with the ability to compile and submit monthly and annual reports, and to monitor and trend operational characteristics (load, capacity, environmental conditions etc.) Good working ability on Microsoft Office Products.

· The ability to learn quickly and to gain maximum benefit from extensive training and development programs aimed at ensuring that any identified knowledge or experience deficiencies are addressed in the short term.

· Availabilitytoworkshiftandtoprovideemergencycoverasrequired.

· Organized, able to effectively prioritize and deliver within a dynamic and high pressure, business critical environments

· Self-motivated,withabilitytoworkonowninitiative

Circumstances:

The shift technician is the next point of contact to cover shifts during emergency situations to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice. You must be flexible in your working patterns to support requirements dictated by the rhythm of the business & operational demands.
