Team/Role Overview:
The OTC Middle Office department forms part of the wider Security Services Operations group and provides a range of post-trade services to clients who invest in OTC derivatives securities.
The Middle Office Securities & Derivatives Senior Analyst – Assistant Vice President is an experienced position responsible for the on-boarding of new clients and moving of existing manually processed clients to Citi's standard Straight-Through-Processing Model. As part of the role some Middle Office BAU tasks will also be required to be completed.
What you will do:
Lead and coordinate projects across Operations, in cooperation with our Product, Technology partners and our clients
Formulate detailed project plans, analysis of effort, cost and impact on various Citi businesses to ensure timely execution and mitigate potential risks;
Onboarding activities relate to Trade Lifecycle Management for Over the Counter (OTC) Derivatives such as Trade Confirmations, Valuations, Settlements & Reporting requirements.
Contribute to developing Citi’s OTC system architecture capabilities through integration between internal trade capture systems and client’s front-end systems.
Liaise with various stakeholders on the client side including Portfolio Managers/Traders, Operations & Technology Teams
Support in analysis & oversight of proposed system changes to assure smooth projects implementation
Build and manage an effective project team
Challenge the status quo, display initiative and innovation
Take proactive actions targeted at minimizing and mitigating implementation risk
Ensure that all necessary project documentation is maintained and all necessary approvals for the project are obtained
Display appropriate involvement in Department strategic planning
What we will need from you:
Extensive experience in Project Management or in operational improvements areas (e.g. Lean, reengineering programs)
Understanding of OTC derivative products
Experience of working with asset management clients on a variety of investment fund vehicles (e.g. OEICS, Segregated) or Securities Services operations (desirable)
Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and software tools such as Confluence & JIRA
Ability to work in fast paced environment under tight contractual deadlines
Capability for stepping into business analysis at times when required
An understanding of financial market and eagerness to grasp Operations business
Proven understanding of PMBOK standard and/or PMP certification is advantageous
Proven ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage own capacity
Team Management experience would be an additional asset
