Google Payroll Operations Manager, Finance in Dublin, Ireland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience working in Finance or a People Operations team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to manage complex operational processes, issues and risks across multiple countries.

  • Ability to collaborate and work with vendors and international teams.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with management.

  • Excellent communication skills, partnering with multiple business functions and a number of external partners.

The Google Business Services (GBS) team within Accounting and Finance Operations, manages critical transactions on a global basis and ensures that processes are controlled, effective and efficient.

The EMEA Payroll Operations team, a subset of GBS, is responsible for paying employees accurately and on time while meeting our reporting, compliance, and tax obligations here in EMEA.

The Payroll Operations Manager role allows you to a high degree of autonomy to manage a critical payroll operation for Alphabet and deliver an excellent outcome for our employees.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

  • Be accountable for the safe delivery of 10 cross-country payrolls in EMEA including year end, cycle planning, and operational execution.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams including Treasury, HR Operations (GXO), Market HR, Controllership to represent Eastern Europe payroll support.

  • Ensure critical operational risks are managed appropriately using both our external BPO and Payroll Service Providers as support.

  • Provide critical thinking to ensure cycle escalations are closed, investigate root causes, and follow on solutions.

  • Drive the continuous optimization of our payroll operations by critically assessing how we can constantly improve our process.
