The Associate Accounting position performs key transaction activities within financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting to ensure transactions are processed with integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. Responsible for preparing accounting reports within required timeframes and quality units. Makes recommendations to manager for enhancements and process performance improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine transactional work including but not limited to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

  • Manual invoicing

  • Cash application coordination.

  • Intercompany billing

  • Customer Inquiry Support

  • Goods Receipt

  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing processes including but not limited to reconciliations, accruals, and reports/schedules.

  • Financial / GL summary reporting

  • Aging Reconciliation

  • Petty Cash Reconciliation

  • Assist with corrective actions, quality assurance, compliance and documentation for internal processes as needed.

  • Provide support to other Operations functions as needed including P-Card purchase.

  • Initiates corrective actions or observations for quality or vendor issues.

  • Updates/ initiates SOP’s or Standards

  • Trains other employees as instructed and/or required for any of the functions listed above. Must be able to demonstrate how to perform the job themselves while training.

  • Maintains functional knowledge of SAP required to complete job responsibilities within the department and Microsoft Dynamics GP. Update SOP’s, Forms, Training Records to Date, Train New Associates, Functions Delegated by Managers as required.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS with major or minor in Accounting or Finance, or minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance and proven extensive exposure to areas of responsibility above.

  • Above average decision-making, communication & interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle multiple situations & tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to cover early morning, after hour shifts and to allow for PTO coverage.

  • Competence in software literacy, including SAP, MS Dynamics and Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel.

  • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills and business knowledge

  • Computer skills: Basic MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP or the equivalent a plus.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and requires little guidance.

  • Clearly and effectively communicate with others in written and verbal form.

  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple tight deadlines.

  • Strong time management skills

  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of roles within a cross-functional team environment comprised of various levels.

  • Ability to capitalize on others' expertise and available resources to succeed as a team.
