About Mount Carmel Dublin:
Mount Carmel Dublin will be an innovative medical ambulatory campus directly tailored to the needs of the Dublin community and surrounding suburbs. Services provided:
• 24 bay emergency department
• 60 acute inpatient beds
• 4 operating rooms
• Advanced imaging and other outpatient testing
The position will be hired to staff Mount Carmel Dublin. While construction is underway, the majority of training will take place at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s located at 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville OH 43081.
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a certified pharmacy technician to join our team at Mount Carmel’s newest medical campus in Dublin, set to open in the spring of 2025. The technician will support the inpatient pharmacy in the timely and accurate provision of medications to patients through medication preparation and distribution, sterile and non-sterile compounding, automated medication distribution system(s) support and ensure regulatory compliance. Additional responsibilities include special projects as assigned by leadership; performing technical duties related to the orientation and training of pharmacy technicians/interns; assisting in the development and revision of procedures; and participating in department goal planning/quality improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do:
Assist in the filling of orders/prescriptions
Prepare intravenous admixtures including chemotherapy; using aseptic technique in compliance with regulatory standards
Prepares and restocks medications for automated dispensing cabinets, aids in the maintenance and resolution of issues/errors
Assists in inventory control by verifying and putting away orders by the end of shift each day; assures proper stock rotation, reviews stock for proper storage and current expiration dates, and identifies drugs and supplies that need to be reordered
Prepares sterile products; properly labels medications and maintains records as required by department Policy and Procedures and state and federal law
All other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Education : High school graduation or equivalent; Associate and/or Bachelor degree in healthcare or information technology is preferred, OR commensurate experience
Licensure/Certification : Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification, active registration as a Certified Tech with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
Experience: Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or previous relevant pharmacy technician experience is required.
