The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .

Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer - Part Time Student for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will….

  • Support Electrical testing & design activities for construction machine platforms.

  • Support requirements development and design for electronic components and electrical systems.

  • Provide problem solving of electrical issues on new product development and current production.

  • Work with electronic suppliers to ensure component interface and quality meet John Deere needs.

This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

  • 1 years of experience in Electronic Hardware including internships, school projects, or hobby activities.

  • Communication skills and working in teams.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Organization and workload planning skills.

  • Ability to work 16-20 hours during the school year

  • Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester

  • Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • In college working towards a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Professional Electrical Engineering experience performing analysis, testing, and/or design work.

  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical components such as batteries, starters, alternators, relays, solenoids, sensors, cameras, and connectors.

  • Experience in the automotive or heavy on-road/off-road industries.

  • Knowledge of electrical wire harness circuits and routing.
