About the Role
As a Labor Relations Director in EMEA, you will play a vital role in developing the labor relations function within our organization. You will be responsible for shaping and overseeing the labor relations activities, with a particular focus on Europe. This role involves negotiating collective bargaining agreements across Veralto, ensuring compliance with all labor laws and regulations and promoting our philosophy of positive associate relations. This role works closely with a range of stakeholders including senior leadership, global HR teams, employee representative bodies and union representatives to foster positive labor relations and achieve our strategic goals.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Labor Relations
Develop and implement labor relations strategies aligned to our organizational objectives
Monitor and analyze labor market trends, legislation and best practices to drive proactive labor relations management
Provide coaching and consulting to senior leaders and the global HR team on labor relations issues
Develop and improve Labor Relations Standard Work, playbooks and repository of information
Collective Bargaining
Lead negotiations for collective bargaining agreements with unions, Works Councils and employee representatives, in particular the Veralto level negotiations covering all Operating Companies in Germany.
Develop negotiation strategies, prepare proposals, and ensure agreements are aligned with organizational goals
Manage the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements
Compliance and Risk Management
Establish and maintain governance framework to ensure compliance with collective labor laws and regulations
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate labor relations risks.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and minimize disputes.
Serve as primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including labor unions, government agencies and industry associations
Employee Relations
Foster a culture of positive associate relationships between management and associates
Investigate associate disputes and complaints in a fair and timely manner
Provide training and support to managers and HR on labor relations and conflict resolution, building skills and acumen in Labor Relations globally
Union Relations
Build and maintain effective relationships with union representatives
Represent the organization in labor disputes, mediations, and arbitrations
Consult and support on any Labor Relations incidents or activations as the Labor Relations expert
Reporting and Analysis
Prepare regular reports on labor relations activities, trends, and outcomes.
Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Law, or related field
Master's degree or professional certification in labor relations is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor relations, combined with extensive employee relations experience
Strong knowledge of European labor laws and regulations
Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
