Honeywell Engineering Manager in Duluth, Georgia

As an Engineering Manager, you would lead engineering and technology for Honeywell Building Management System business. In addition to being responsible for the business technology vision, strategy, and roadmap you will build and lead hardware and software teams while also leveraging global platform teams to deliver differentiated solutions for the building automation market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and execute vision, strategy and technology roadmap for the company and develop technology products aligned to that.

• Lead globally distributed engineering teams to drive design and implementation for product lines via an agile product development cycle.

• Create a schedule and cost (capex and labor) based plan as Annual Operating Plan – R&D investment (budget) for various projects for Honeywell BMS business.

• Guide and mentor team members and periodically review their performance, provide feedback and determine their annual performance metrics.

• Drive team to innovate for the Honeywell BMS business.

• Drive the team to manage operation and maintenance related issues and requests.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering

• A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in embedded systems (firmware, hardware, software) product development with demonstrated success in bringing new products to market.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in architecture, design, and development in end-to-end IoT stack with strong knowledge on embedded systems and wireless technologies

• Experience working with and defining architectures for new embedded systems.

• Experience working with networked products, especially using wireless networks.

• Experience with microcontroller-based products that utilize embedded firmware.

• Strong knowledge on Cyber Security and User Experience for a solution

• Strong interest in innovation and exploring innovative technologies.

• Complete understanding of a full product development lifecycle from concept to launch.

• Demonstrated experience working within an iterative product development methodology.

• Demonstrated ability to learn new products/industries quickly.

• Experience with multiple technologies and architectures

• Experience working with multi-site, international project teams.

• Experience coaching and inspiring team members.

• Good understanding of design patterns

• Experience defining interfaces between subsystems within a product to allow teams to work on independent portions of the system.

• History of following and understanding of market trends and defining short and long-term product roadmaps to meet the market needs.

• Demonstrated ability to take input from multiple sources, define one technical plan to meet the product needs and get buy-in from all parties to implement that plan.

• Experience working directly with customers to understand their needs.

• Experience designing for and using software platforms.

• Experience with a configuration management system

• Experience working with control systems and/or building automation products.

• Experience in Hospitality domain/Guest Room Automation Solution or Home Automation Solution

• Knowledge of cloud and mobile based products is a plus.

• Experience working within Scaled Agile framework is a plus.
