Salary: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour This position will close to review applications on December 6th. This position is in person, with the possibility of some remote days during the off-season. OVERVIEW The position of Senior Manager of Operations reports directly to the Director of Glensheen and is responsible for the overall management of the Operations Department. This includes setting departmental strategy to align with Glensheen's mission and goals, developing and implementing department budgets, and maintaining a high standard for workforce development and nance. This position oversees operations for events, nance, and the estate. The Senior Manager of Operations serves as a member of Glensheen's senior leadership team. This position may work evenings, holidays, and weekends. JOB DUTIES Operations Leadership (40%) needed Lead and supervise the overall operation of the Operations Department. Create and implement annual plans with staff to meet the earned revenue and strategic goals of the organization. Develop budgets for the department to meet its annual goals. Track earned revenue and monitor expenses to ensure budgets stay within annual allowances. Develop policies and procedures to guide department operations for staff implementation. This may include cash handling, contract development, and work requests. Develop and lead the creation of capital plans for conservation, grounds, and preservation projects. Incorporate input from the senior leadership team, Collections Manager, and Head Gardener. Create and coordinate equipment replacement schedules for Glensheen. Serve in the capacity of Glensheen's le manager to ensure digital and paper les are retained according to University guidelines for records retention. Provide guidance to staff on the organization of digital folders and records to ensure efciency of data management. Hire, lead, train, and supervise the department's team of supervisors to establish a high level of guest experience for Glensheen. Direct work of the department based on annual plans. Regularly review operating systems for efciency and ease of use within the department. Lead the implementation of operating systems changes. This includes events, scheduling, project management, and evaluation systems. Serve as the main contact and administrator for Glensheen's security systems. Work with vendor to update passcodes and user permissions. Serve as the key manager for Glensheen. Ensure there is a proper tracking of key disbursement and retrieval. Serve in the capacity of Opener/Closer on a regular or rotating basis to provide opening and closing support for the estate including arming and disarming. Provide stafng support for the Operations Department to support Glensheen operations as needed. This may include providing frontline stafng in events as needed. Interact with guests to Glensheen. Strive to interpret Glensheen to guests in an effective, interactive, and meaningful way. Maintain knowledge of industry standards for events, museums, and tourism. Disseminate information to staff across the estate on innovations and trends. Disseminate Glensheen information related to tours, events, programs, and rentals to staff, volunteers, and guests via phone, email, and in person. Senior Leadership (40%) Support the Director in the development of organizational goals and strategies to focus resources efciently and ensure long-term sustainability. Develop and implement an annual training program, specic to Glensheen, for al staff. Collaborate with supervisors to develop training programs specic to their areas. Provide leadership and direction on the implementation of sustainability initiatives across the estate. Identify industry standards and best practices to follow. Provide training to staff for implementation of standards, best practices, and sustainability initiatives. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop Operational Plans for monthly operations, events, offerings, and construction. Provide perspective from an Operations lens in developing those plans. Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance efciency and synergy around operational decisions. Use data-driven decision making to assess effectiveness of communication efforts on Glensheen operations and nancials. Support the Director in building stafng plans, work culture, hiring procedures, and training practices that emphasize respect, inclusivity, teamwork, creativity, and professionalism. Represent Glensheen, along with the Director, Marketing Manager, and Senior Manager of Guest Services, as a public face of the organization. This includes executing press events and interviews, attending community and University events, and serving with afnity groups. Engage with local, statewide, and national organizations to learn new tactics and best practices. Financial Responsibility (20%) Prepare and monitor the scal budget for Glensheen's $2.4 million operation. Develop the annual budget in coordination with senior leadership to ensure long term organizational sustainability and to support strategic goals and initiatives. Serve as the approver of cash revenue. Responsible for ensuring a separation of duties exists for cash handling and nancial processes to meet auditor requirements. Implement this system in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Guest Services and Finance Specialist. Serve as Glensheen's Payment Card Manager and ensure Glensheen meets all compliance standards and best practices. Maintain all credit card machine equipment to ensure it is in good working order and has not been tampered with. Serve as the backup on nancial processes to the Finance Specialist. Qualifications Required BA/BS plus at least ve years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least nine years. Experience in a supervisory role or leading project teams Experience in operations, hospitality, or tourism Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service skills Computer experience required Preferred Strong analytical, problem solving, and mathematical skills.
