TITLE: Scrum Master, Interactive Services

LOCATION: Dundee, UK

POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

NCR are looking for a dynamic Agile Coach to join their Collaboration Services software teams and as part of the wider part of the Remote Teller solution. The teams work predominantly with financial institutions to deliver effective banking interactions that transform how consumers use branch services.

This Agile Coach will be playing the Scrum Master role as per the Scrum Guide for one or two Scrum Teams. In addition to this, the person will help coordinate the Scrum of all teams building the same product (between 5-11 scrum teams across multiple time zones) being the servant leader of all Scrum Masters working in the product. She / he also will be a member of the higher level team of Scrum Masters working at the program (suite of products) level.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coaching the engineering team, the product owner, and the business on the agile and scrum processes and best practices.

  • Facilitating various Scrum activities at the team and product level, such as: Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, Stand-Up’s, Backlog Refinement, Scrum of Scrums and impromptu meetings as needed.

  • Helping the team to identify and remove roadblocks, which could require cross-team, cross-product collaboration and or escalation.

  • Building a positive team culture by encouraging the team to celebrate successes, provide each other with feedback, resolve conflicts, adapt to change and hold each other accountable.

  • Supporting an open, learning, and progressive environment to allow the team's exploration of new solutions.

  • Protecting the team from outside influence once the sprints are planned and quantifies the impact of changes for others outside of the team.

  • Maintain and publish Scrum metrics (e.g. velocity and burn-down) and any other information that needs to be visible.

  • Working with product owner(s) to find techniques for effective backlog management. Ensuring product backlog is visible, prioritized to generate higher business value and that items are clear and concise.

  • Maintain an understanding of fundamentals of iterative and incremental development and basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.

  • Seeking new ways of working more efficiently and effectively to enhance outcomes or user experiences.

  • Communicating project progress with stakeholders.

  • Assisting in the creation of processes and procedures with input from other product development teams.

  • Maintaining expertise in the application and use of systems, tools, and processes within the department's scope.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach

  • 10+ years of SW development/engineering experience

  • Understanding of fundamentals of iterative and incremental development

  • Strong knowledge of agile development practices (especially Scrum and / or Kanban), methodologies and tools

  • Experience of enterprise agile transformation

  • Good understanding of Software Development and Quality Assurance best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM)

  • Experience of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or scaled agile

  • Experience of the financial industry and Self Service Terminals
