Special Metals Corporation Mechanical Repairer in Dunkirk, New York
FT: Mechanical Repairer, Dunkirk. The ideal candidate must have the ability to perform the following:
. Receive and interpret instructions, print, sketches and work orders for job.
. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment.
. Fabricate fixtures for plant equipment, working from prints or sketches, using various measuring devices, arc or gas welding equipment, power and hand tools.
. Install or assist in the installation of new equipment or relocation of present equipment as required.
. Advise supervision of problem areas developed during Preventative Maintenance checks.
. Determine and advise supervisors of material requirements for jobs.
. Learn to run the equipment to aid in understanding how to troubleshoot problems.
. Must be willing to provide innovative repair ideas that will help increase the reliability and productivity of the equipment.
. Assist in creation of diagnostic and repair procedure documentation, including c0llaborating with supervisors and coworkers to analyze response to unplanned downtime events and determine best practices for future repairs.
. Demonstrate sufficient motivation and competence to learn new systems, methods, tools and procedures.
. Must be willing and able to work any shift to cover needs.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to perform technical duties of the millwright and welding crafts. Candidate must have knowledge and experience in hydraulics and pneumatics. MIG, TIG and Stick welding as well as gas cutting, plasma and air arcing experience is required. Experience with gas furnace combustion, refractory, plumbing and rigging is a plus.
