Job description:

  • Plans, schedules and supervises security efforts for patients, associates and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.

  • Plans, schedules and supervises drills associated with security response and reports on same.

  • Responsible for Environment of care Chapter 2 Security as required by Joint Commission.

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of Hospital-wide safety programs as well as the safety and training programs for Corporate and outlying locations.

  • In addition, this position is responsible for the management of the Security function.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Required:

  • High school diploma/ GED required

  • Direct leadership experience required

  • Knowledge of TJC accreditation policies, practices, management and regulatory law required

  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills required

Preferred:

  • Eight years of progressively more responsible experience in hospital security or law enforcement operations

  • Demonstrated knowledge of security-related training as well as local, state and federal safety regulations

  • Experience in hospital environment preferred

  • Familiar with self-defense training and facilitation

  • Familiar with Life Safety CodesSecurity certification preferred

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor degree preferred
