Xylem Director, IT Merger, Acquisition and Transformation in Durham, North Carolina

The Director of Merger, Acquisition (M&A) and Transformation will be responsible for overseeing and managing the IT aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of IT systems, processes, and infrastructure. The M&A and Transformation Director will play a critical role in supporting due diligence activities, executing integration plans, and maintaining confidentiality across projects.

Program management experience and previous M&A experience are critical for this leader to be effective and driving the success of each initiative.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead IT integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Examples of transformation initiatives include manufacturing footprint optimization and joint venture partnerships.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, legal, HR, purchasing, business segment(s) and operations, to develop and execute integration plans.

  • Manage IT due diligence activities, identifying potential risks and opportunities related to IT systems and infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain IT runbooks and documentation templates for M&A and Transformation initiatives.

  • Provide regular status updates and reports to senior leadership, including the CIO, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

  • Create and coordinate IT deliverables required for M&A transactions, including data room population and data management, TSA preparation, and weekly status reporting/alignment within initiative PMO teams.

  • Collaborate with business leadership and IT business relationship management team to align on requirements and manage expectations throughout project lifecycles.

  • Manage third party vendors, develop and negotiate contracts needed to support integration and transformation initiatives.

  • Identify and manage issues and risks related to IT integration and transformation projects.

  • Drive integration delivery to ensure successful exit of Transition Service Agreements on schedule.

  • Lead and influence project execution to deliver projects on schedule and on budget, within acceptable thresholds

  • Ensure compliance with IT governance and security policies throughout the integration process.

  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to support IT integration efforts.

  • Support the development and implementation of IT strategies to optimize the integration process.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science, Business, IT, or other related field.

  • Proven experience in IT program management, with a focus on mergers, acquisitions/divestitures or transformation initiatives.

  • At least 5 years experience with M&A program leadership or 3 significant (> 50M revenue or > 6 months) M&A initiatives in a leadership role.

  • At least 10 years IT management experience

  • Ability to work in and navigate a dynamic and stressful environment with multiple initiatives happening simultaneously

  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure and security.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with IT governance and compliance frameworks.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with executive communication experience

  • Ability to solve multiple complex problems and strong ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work with offshore and international teams, understanding cultural differences and promoting ‘one-team’ culture.

  • Ability to set clear objectives and measures and monitor progress against results against these measures.

  • Proven ability to lead large scale and global teams.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience with IT in manufacturing or similar real-time demand industry

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).

  • Experience working in a global organization.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% Including international travel.

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. Salary range 160,00-190,000.

$136,500.00 - $245,500.00
