    Hiring Salary: $90,000.00 - $ 108,000.00

    Workdays/Hours: Monday - Friday / 40 hours per week

    8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This position is designed for a forward-thinking leader who will develop innovative strategies to elevate the customer experience across all City parking facilities, including garages, lots, and on-street meters. You'll oversee the division's operations, ensuring smooth enforcement activities and top-notch equipment maintenance. With strong fiscal management skills, you'll oversee revenue collections and controls from parking assets, making smart financial decisions that benefit the City's future. Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead the Parking Division with vision and creativity, overseeing daily operations, including parking systems management, enforcement, customer service, and facilities management. You’ll manage all aspects of parking facilities, from garages and on-street meters to parking assets, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency and align with the City’s strategic goals.

  • Take charge of the division’s budget with a focus on innovation and growth. Oversee revenue collections, implement sound financial controls, and develop a budget that supports the City’s objectives while seeking out opportunities for financial optimization and sustainability.

  • Supervise and inspire a diverse team of professionals, including two managers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and excellence in customer service. Your leadership will be crucial in creating a team that is both motivated and forward-thinking.

  • Drive the division’s commitment to superior customer service by implementing strategies that enhance the parking experience for all users. Ensure that customer service standards reflect the City’s dedication to quality and satisfaction.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with downtown businesses, property owners, and other key stakeholders. Collaborate to develop and implement forward-looking parking strategies that not only attract customers but also support the economic vitality of Durham’s business districts.

  • Be at the forefront of revolutionizing parking services through technology. Identify and implement cutting-edge solutions that advance the City’s parking operations, integrating them seamlessly with the growing multimodal transportation network.

  • Manage the division’s resources, including vehicles, equipment, systems, and tools, ensuring they are maintained, replaced, and operated in accordance with budgetary, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Oversee the preparation of complex reports, contracts, and agreements, making informed decisions that keep the division ahead of industry standards.

  • Lead and manage complex, high-visibility projects that impact the City’s parking infrastructure and operations. Your strategic oversight will ensure these projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget, contributing to the City’s long-term success.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree "or" equivalent.

  • Six (6) years of parking management experience.

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

  • A valid, unrestricted, North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience in municipal or public sector parking management.
