Role Summary

As the Senior Product Manager, Platform Lifecycle on the Foundations team, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining how Splunk customers consume and adopt our software. You’ll shape the experience for platform administrators by building solutions that make installation, upgrades, adoption and deprecation frictionless. Your work will empower customers to manage platform complexity while driving innovation and reliability at scale.

This role will be reporting to the Director of Splunk Product Management and working alongside several Platform Product Managers on the team. The Platform Lifecycle area is one of several key initiatives on the Foundations Team.

What you'll get to do

  • Own the vision and strategy for the end-to-end upgrade experience across multiple platforms

  • Drive product requirements on defining the right APIs, interfaces and deployment vehicles to uptake new releases, working closely with engineering, design and other teams

  • Build a repeatable framework for how Operating Systems, 3rd Party Libraries and installation & runtime paradigms are introduced and deprecated within Splunk software

  • Establish relationships with customers and internal and external collaborators to collect key user and customer needs and validate potential solutions

  • Collaborate with Customers, Engineering, UX, PMs, Service Operations, Marketing, and Field on a regular cadence to own the proposed strategy

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional product initiatives that deliver meaningful outcomes for customers.

  • Experience working with system administrator personas, designing solutions for health monitoring, troubleshooting, and distributed environments.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience driving alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A data-driven approach to prioritization and operational excellence.

  • Typically requires a minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6 years and a Master's Degree.

Bonus Qualities We’d Love to See

  • Familiarity with enterprise operating systems, packaging workflows, and support policies.

  • Experience with software development lifecycles, release automation, and certification processes.

  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $159,200.00 - 218,900.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $143,280.00 - 197,010.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $127,360.00 - 175,120.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
