Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Durham, North Carolina. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining financial records and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded. This includes tasks such as invoicing customers, managing accounts payable and receivable, and conducting financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain detailed records

• Manage the integrity of accounting information by verifying and consolidating transactions

• Handle vendor invoices by receiving, seeking approval, and entering them into the accounting system

• Manage and reconcile accounts payable invoices

• Follow up on accounts receivable past dues and assist customers with accounting needs

• Respond to incoming emails and phone calls related to accounting issues from vendors

• Prepare and process sales tax exemption forms and sales tax reports for individual states

• Assist with special projects as directed and take on additional responsibilities as needed

• Analyze accounts payable and prepare checks

• Conduct month-end accounting close activities and journal entries. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Knowledge in preparing Journal Entries

• Ability to handle Month End Close tasks

• Proficiency in using Acumatica software

• Experience in handling Sales Tax computations and submissions
