Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Senior Device Development Engineer in East Greenbush, New York

Regeneron is currently looking for a Senior Device Development Engineer to join our Process Sciences Drug Product Engineering department. In this role, you will lead device mechanical modeling and simulation projects, including finite element analysis (FEA) simulations, to enable drug delivery device development, drug product packaging operations and biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

A typical day for a Senior Device Development Engineer might include:

  • Partnering with combination product R&D teams to plan and execute simulation projects to enable development of novel drug delivery devices. Simulations may be in the areas of solid mechanics (FEA), thermal/fluid systems, system modeling, and statistics.

  • Utilizing ANSYS software packages, solid modeling tools (Solidworks), scripting languages (e.g. Python, R, Matlab), spreadsheets, and/or hand calculations to develop and analyze mechanical systems.

  • Preparing validation protocols, designing experiments, and coordinating empirical testing to validate simulations. You may also utilize machine learning methods to automate and scale validation.

  • Incorporating simulation results into the design of components and systems for drug delivery devices.

  • Writing reports and crafting technical presentations to shape design decisions and document work.

  • Mentoring and training others in the areas of mechanical simulation and system modeling.

  • Evaluating existing simulation technology and exploring new methods as we work toward simulation-driven process and device design.

This role might be for you if you:

  • Are recognized as an expert in the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation environments.

  • Can work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional setting.

  • Can take on new and sometimes ambiguous challenges, learning quickly.

  • Are detail-oriented, possess good interpersonal skills, and have effective technical writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Can effectively communicate complex technical concepts and insights to audiences with a broad range of technical backgrounds and expertise.

To be considered for the Senior Device Development Engineer you must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field and 5+ years of related experience. Experience with ANSYS products, Solidworks and scripting languages is preferred. Level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.

Salary Range (annually)

$85,300.00 - $139,100.00
