AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Unit, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are seeking an Engineering Technical Service Manager 2 to support our Special Programs team in East Hartford, CT.

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Engineering Technical Service Manager will manage the Special Programs customer support team by providing technical advice to customers, responding to product related questions, issues, and problems. May make technical presentations at customer locations, and acts as a liaison between program managers, customers and technical staff.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision/management of Test Engineers and Technical Service Engineers within the Special Programs team

  • Coordinate resources for support of customer's technical needs

  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports

  • Planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on various contracts

  • Assists with integration and testing of a variety systems and subsystems

  • Lead integration technical activities for programs within the organization

  • Support and participate in external and internal audits as required

  • Ensure all Integration engineering contractual requirements are being met

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 9 years' experience supporting technical teams; OR a Master's degree and 7 years' experience; an additional 4 years' experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills in both independent and team environments

  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule

  • Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal

  • Track record of maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working with customers in the Aerospace or Defense industries

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years' experience supporting technical teams; OR a Master's degree in a STEM degree and 7 years' experience

  • Project Management Experience

Salary Range: $125,500 - $188,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
