Seeking Engineering Interns! We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Verification Test System Design Organization as a Data Scientist/Engineer/Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting large datasets to analyzing risk to support the development and validation of aircraft engine systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify patterns, trends, and insights that will drive improvements in engine performance and reliability using existing system engineering risk models .

What You Will Do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models to forecast risk factors in support of engine validation planning.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and other stakeholders to define engine validation data requirements and analyze datasets.

  • Apply statistical models to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in engine validation datasets to extract actionable insights.

  • Design and implement data visualization dashboards and reports to communicate findings effectively.

  • Develop and publish new knowledge assets within EKS (ESW, K-Packs, GB, training, etc.)

  • Communicate results and insights to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.

  • Our internships start in May 2025 and conclude in August 2025.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

Qualifications We Prefer

  • P rogramming experience in Python, R, or similar languages.

  • Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.

  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.

  • Knowledge of aircraft engine systems and validation processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
